Announcing the kick-off to our “Distinguished Speaker” series as part of our year-long celebration of Temple Emanu-El’s 50th anniversary. The theme of our series is “Building Community” and how important that is to us in our daily lives and in the world today.
On Monday, March 9th at 7:00 pm, we will welcome Rabbi Uri Regev, internationally renowned leader and advocate of religious liberty and the liberal movements of Judaism in Israel and around the world. Rabbi Regev will speak about “The Israeli Elections: The Challenge to Religious Freedom and the Role of American Jewry. Rabbi Regev is President and CEO of Hiddush, the educational and advocacy Israel-Diaspora partnership promoting freedom of religion and equality for Israel. Cost to attend the lecture will be $18 per person and there will be a coffee and dessert reception after.
Our Distinguished speaker series will continue throughout the Spring of 2015 with details to follow. Watch for information about additional speakers as details are confirmed.
