Assaf will talk about “the 9 stages of writing a novel” the process, sharing examples from his books and experiences. Enjoy meeting this Renaissance man, who has best selling novels like Hilltop, a column that ran 2 years in Haaretz about life in Israel seen through the lens of the Falafel stands in Jerusalem, musician for band Foot and Mouth and more. Assaf Gavron is the visiting Israeli Author at San Diego State University’s Jewish Studies Program for Spring 2016. His residency at SDSU is supported by the Israel Institute, which is dedicated to enhancing knowledge and study of modern Israel.

About Hagiga Ivrit:
A Festival celebrating the Hebrew Language. Join in events celebrating Hebrew, the vibrant language of Israel expressed in its literature, movies, songs, photography and more. Hagiga Ivrit 2016 San Diego will honor Israeli authors Leah Goldberg, and feature Dorit Rabinian and Assaf Gavron. Our showcase dance event will feature a collaboration with Dance Place @Liberty Station and the incredible Israeli Dancer & Choreographer Ido Tadmor.
