Baking challah is a time-honored mitzvah dating back to our matriarchs. It is taught that when a woman bakes challah and makes the appropriate blessings on the dough, she is bringing additional blessings into her home and into the food that she lovingly prepares for family and friends. Challah Making will feature a hands-on workshop, including instruction in braiding techniques, as well as the experience of preparing two oven-ready loaves from scratch. Organizers will provide the ingredients, aprons as well as the aluminum pans so participants can take their braided dough home for baking. There will be music and kosher light refreshments for all to enjoy while learning a wonderful skill, creating unity in our community and being inspired by the poignancy of our joint prayers and blessings. Challah Making is open to all Women, Men and Children. Separate women’s section available -
